'Parasocial'

 

‘The term parasocial relationship refers to a relationship that a person imagines having with another person whom they do not actually know.’

 

This virtual installation is a communication through time, in that my younger self had a para-social relationship with the young woman she imagined herself to be in her 20s. Now that I’ve reached that age, I’ve created this piece as a dialogue between my younger and older selves, turning the para-social relationship into a reciprocal one.
